Excerpt from Page 15Have you ever prayed for someone and felt your prayers were somewhat hollow or shallow? It's happened to me several times. Recently I've been reading in Exodus and I've been impressed with Moses' intercession on behalf of the Jews even when they worshipped an idol. Moses went before God and pleaded His forgiveness. How could Moses do this time and time again?
While reading and praying, God brought to mind a comment I once heard. "Before we can truly be an intercessor, we must see if we have any wrong attitudes toward the one for whom we are praying." That was it! Moses' attitudes towards his fellow man were right.
On several occasions when I've felt my prayers of intercession to be hollow or empty, I've asked God to reveal any wrong attitudes I might have toward the person. It is amazing how my prayers of intercession seemed to take on new importance and depth when my attitude was corrected.
Friend, before interceding for someone, have your attitude checked. It can make a difference in your prayer time.
