Letters from the HeartExcerpt from Page 33

Have you ever thought that you would really like to reach out to others and give them a special gift in time of need? I have, but many times did nothing after reflecting on my earthly limitations. Recently the Lord has shown me that I have much to offer and so do you.

We all have a unique, powerful and comforting gift we can give to anyone in need. Yes, you have a gift and so do I. The challenge is to be bold enough to give it away. The gift is always sufficient for the most trying circumstances as well as the most seemingly minor circumstances. You've probably guessed it - it is the gift of prayer.

Whether visiting the loved ones of someone who has died or someone who is suffering from illness or an accident, we are often at a loss for words. How appropriate it would be to ask "May I pray with you?" Then be bold enough, if they say yes, to pray right then and there, a brief prayer.

What do you say? How do you start? Just start praying a blessing upon them and God will give you the words, just as He gave the disciples the words when needed. He is our source, our strength and our sufficiency for all situations particularly when we boldly trust Him. Be a blessing, give to others and do it today!
